Tasting Notes: Bright red hue colour. Aromas of strawberries, blackberries and blackcurrants. The Pinot Noir comes through distinctly and powerfully on the palate. The finish shows smooth, fine tannins, accentuated by a hint of toasting.

The grapes come from a parcel facing directly east and situated below Château de Brochon. Here, the soils are deeper, resulting in very fruity wines. The grapes are picked and sorted by hand. Maceration lasts 3-4 weeks, all grapes destemmed. The wines are aged for 16-18 months in French oak barrels, of which around 40% are new.

The history of Jaffelin is intertwined with that of the Collegiate Church of Notre Dame in Beaune. Over the centuries, the cellars have housed the wines of the Collegiate Church and the princes of the Church. The Chapitre cellars changed hands in 1816, the year the Jaffelin brothers founded their wine merchant house. Today, just as they did eight centuries ago, their wines rest in the monastic tranquility of the Chapitre cellars.

Jaffelin, the smallest of the great Burgundy wine houses as they like to remind people, entered a new chapter in its history in 2004, when they completely renovated the vat room and fitted it out with high precision equipment.

Marinette Garnier, the oenologist-winemaker, creates "hand-made" wines in this magical location in the historical centre of Beaune.

Since then, Jaffelin continues to present the very best of the finest Burgundy terroirs within a comprehensive collection of wines, which are recognised in prestigious wine competitions and appreciated by connoisseurs around the world.
