Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of ripe plum and chocolate. The palate is rich, velvety smooth with flavours of ripe dark fruits - cherries & plums with dark chocolate and vanilla from aging in oak barrels. Supple structure. The finish has beautiful silky tannins with a lovely lingering vanilla finish. Aging is done in a combination of steel vats and oak barrels.
Chateau des Pelerins is a small, traditional family estate in Pomerol, now being run by the daughter of the family - the fourth generation. They pride themselves on following the classic wine making traditions of manual harvesting - aging the wine in oak barrels, whilst introducing innovation to the vinification and vine management.
3.5 hectares of vineyard with 30 year old vines, planted on sandy-gravelly subsoil which is rich in iron oxide, typical of the Pomerol appellation.
Food Match : Perfect with red meat dishes - beef stew, roast beef or lamb.
