Tasting Notes: A fantastic wine produced by the team at La Gaffeliere, showing succulent red fruits, a rich textural palate, fine tannins and a lovely freshness. Punches well above its weight.
Chapelle d’Aliénor is produced from estate-owned vineyards located just outside the Saint-Émilion appellation, on clay-limestone soils. The blend is typically dominated by Merlot, with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Grapes are harvested by hand, then sorted and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Fermentation is followed by 12 to 14 months of ageing, partly in second-fill oak barrels and partly in vat. The aim is to craft a supple, fruit-driven Bordeaux Supérieur with freshness, balance, and a clear connection to its Saint-Émilion heritage.
