Tasting Notes:
2019 has intense cassis, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit with an underlay of liquorice and excellent supporting tannins. A hint of cocoa, cedar wood, toasted oak and pencil lead adds to the character of this wine which again is punching way above its weight in recent years. Well integrated tannins with lively acidity.
The growing season was exceptionally warm and dry, producing concentrated and pure fruit. The grapes are destemmed and then slightly crushed, before fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel fermentation vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in 25% new oak barrels.
