Tasting Notes: This complex Chardonnay from Napa Valley is a light gold in colour. Aged for ten months in 50% French and 50% American oak, the nose has beautiful aromas of ripe peaches and hints of butterscotch. On the palate, there are intense notes of pineapple, citrus and pear with caramel and vanilla notes from four months ageing in french oak. A refreshing citric acidity balances the creamy mouthfeel and the stone fruit flavours linger on the finish.
Founded in 2006, Ca’ Momi Napa Valley is run by three Italians. Dario De Conti, Valentina Guolo-Migotto and Stefano Migotto. From the winery and vineyards in Carneros, and featuring hand-selected fruit from across the Napa Valley, Ca’ Momi wines represent the best of both worlds. The fog influenced Napa Valley is home to many of California’s premium wineries. This famous valley around the natural springs of Oakville, includes the thin strip of soil known as the Rutherford Bench where some of the state’s most highly prized vineyards are planted. It is where great Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are grown and sublime Pinot Noirs from the southern Carneros end of the valley.
