Tasting Notes: This St Estephe is wonderfully balanced on palate. Refined tannins with great freshness of acidity and long elegant finish. This is a more approachable Saint-Estephe which is drinking wonderfully now but still has a few years of evolution to come. Bouquet of ripe cherries, black currants, floral, smoky and toasted woody notes. This is an impressive red.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2015-2017) - The vineyard has an average age of its vines of between 40 and 50 years, and the consultant oenologist is the legendary Eric Boissenot.

Château Vieux Coutelin emerged thanks to Saint-Estephe land consolidations that took place in the 1970s and is located in the commune known as Coutelin. The vineyard was classed as a Crus Bourgeois in 2011 and continues to produce wines worthy of that standard.  Found on the Left Bank alongside Margaux, Paulliac & Saint-Julien.
