Tasting Notes: A beautiful and elegant white Côtes du Rhône. The nose is herbaceous and floral, with fresh fennel and honeysuckle. The palate is a delicate balance of ripe stone fruits and subtle vanilla oak flavours. Textured and structured whilst remaining fresh and inviting.
Each parcel is picked separately in the cooler early daylight hours for gentle pressing that same morning, and each is fermented at a low temperature. To a base of Grenache Blanc, we blend Viognier along with co-fermented pairs of Roussanne/Marsanne and Bourboulenc/Clairette (for freshness). The majority is vinified in stainless steel, with approximately a quarter of the wine now vinified and matured for 6 months in 3rd fill 400l French oak barrels.
This wine is "Made by Moreno". Darriaud comes from a selection of parcels, including those in Moreno own vineyards in Cairanne. It is expertly put together by extraordinary winemaker Julien Dugas. You will not find better value for money - think of this as a cellar door purchase!
