Virgin American Oak barrels to create an even fruitier Balvenie.

Tasting Notes: The Balvenie has released a range of whiskies that tell the story of this much-loved distillery and their craftsmanship, aptly named The Balvenie Stories.
The Sweet Toast of American Oak speaks of the quest to create a fruitier, sweeter expression. Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie had the brainwave to import Virgin Oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. These were deeply toasted in The Balvenie Cooperage. Aged in ex-Bourbon barrels initially before being finished in the toasted Virgin Oak barrels from Kentucky, this 12 Year Old is brimming with candied fruit, desiccated coconut, creamy fudge, heather honey, lemon peel, vanilla toffee and the sweetness of freshly hewn wood.
