Tasting Notes: A soft delicate aroma of white flower - acacia, hawthorn blossom with citrus. The palate is full bodied - delicious ripe stone fruits, green apple and citrus with herbs. The finish has lovely tangy saline minerals. Softer than most picpouls, a more rounded mouth feel.
Picpoul is one of the oldest indigenous grapes of the Languedoc region; its use recorded in the 17th century. Today it is most famous for the wines produced around the village of Pinet, which is close to the coast, just west of Sète, along the shores of Etang de Thau near the Mediterranean.
