Spanish Pinot Noir - Red fruits, subtle oak, mineral freshness. Interesting and characterful
More Info
Tasting Notes: Cherry red, bright in appearance. Elegant, delicate aromas that are fresh - red and black fruits with floral notes. A lovely velvety mouth feel with flavours of redcurrant, cranberry and subtle vanilla oak that adds complexity and expression. Minerality, fresh acidity with earthy notes all combine to make this a Pinot Noir of interesting character.
Alta Pavina is found high up in the Ribera del Duero, an area of continental climate, with frank-calcareous soil. The philosophy of Bodegas Alta Pavina is to make wines of distinct character using the terroir and climate. Pinot is very unusual in Spain, the Ortega brothers with minimal intervention have achieved an interesting and very drinkable Pinot Noir.
